I know what you’re about to say, but Tomatoes aren’t yet in season!! I know, I know, but I just couldn’t wait to share with you this deliciously homemade recipe! For those of you who follow me on Instagram, know from my stories that I am totally and utterly addicted to making my own homemade linguine!! And what better than a tasty homemade Tomato Sauce to go with that!
Although it isn’t my personal favorite option, yet I do resort to it from time to time (specially in the winter time), is to buy canned but ORGANIC tomatoes! The taste isn’t quite the same but it does the trick!
Ingredients
- 7 organic tomatoes
- 1 tbs Olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1/2 chills hot pepper
- 1 tbs Sugar
- 1 tsp Salt
- Pepper
- Fresh Oregano
- Fresh Basil
How to Make It
Step 1
Add your washed tomatoes into a blender and bring them to a purée
Step 2
Into a medium pot, add 1 tbs of Olive oil then add 2 cloves of halved garlic and some hot green pepper
Step 3
Cook for about 2 minutes, allowing the flavors to blend into the olive oil
Step 4
Pour in the tomato purée and stir
Step 5
Lower the heat and bring to a simmer
Step 6
Scoop the dough using a small spoon onto a parchment paper-lined baking sheet, leaving at least 4 inches (10 cm) of space between cookies and 2 inches (5 cm) of space from the edges of the pan so that the cookies can spread evenly
Step 7
Add the sugar then season with salt and pepper and stir on low heat for 30 minutes or until you reach the desired texture, some like their sauce thick others like it a bit runny, so it really is up to you when you decide to stop cooking and start enjoying this delicious, easy sauce with you favorite dish of pasta, Lasagna or Pizza!
